Practice Model Implementation is the most explicit and important challenge we work with agencies.  Practice models involve integrating sets of EBPs into on-going individual supervision or treatment session to positively impact the risk and protective factors of the individual on supervision or in treatment. Numerous practice models now exist (COMBINES, STICS, EPICS, IBIS, STARR, Vogelvang’s Communication Model, etc.) and many, if not most of these models are supported by research that shows dramatic reductions in recidivism. JSAT began in 2007 experimenting with variations on practice models and in 2012, systematically incorporate and integrated common features from all the latter models into a generic public domain version. We have successfully implemented this model in one large agency and currently involved in another state-wide implementation pilot.
